SHARP 'Make It In Manufacturing' Enterprise Challenge - 3rd November 2010

Teenagers from schools across North West England and North East Wales will be hoping to ‘look sharp’ at the SHARP Make it Enterprising Schools Challenge in Wrexham on 3rd November 2010. The youngsters, who are aged 13 and 14 years-old and are from West Cheshire, Flintshire, Wrexham, Denbighshire and Wirral, will become manufacturers for the day and devise innovative eco-friendly power generation and energy solutions for a choice of customers – from supermarkets, to hospitals, to gyms and factories.

They will also have to market and sell their design as part of an enterprise challenge set by Wrexham-based SHARP, whose state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing facility is not only one of the most technically advanced in the world, but their first plant in Europe.

The free event is part of The Manufacturing Institute’s Make It in Manufacturing campaign (http://www.makeit.org.uk/) to attract talented young people into industry and is co-sponsored by the Mersey Dee Alliance which is committed to helping manufacturing businesses within its area gain competitive advantage through building world class workforces.  Download the press release for more information.
